As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Umbraco Full Stack .NET Developer to join our Development team in Spalding.

About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished Full Stack .NET Developer with strong commercial experience of Umbraco CMSto take a senior role in the design, development and delivery of modern web applications, customer-facing digital platforms and CMS-driven solutions.

This is a hands-on development position requiring strong technical capability across the Microsoft .NET stack, alongside front-end development skills and a detailed understanding of Umbraco architecture and development.

The successful candidate will work across both new and existing client solutions, taking responsibility for developing new functionality, integrating third-party systems and APIs, enhancing existing applications and supporting the ongoing development and modernisation of our digital platforms.

As a Senior Developer, you will also be expected to contribute to technical decisions, development standards and solution design, while supporting other members of the development team where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality web applications using C#, .NET and ASP.NET Core.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated websites and digital platforms using Umbraco CMS.
  • Build reusable Umbraco components, templates, content models and functionality.
  • Develop both front-end and back-end functionality as part of full-stack solutions.
  • Design, develop and consume RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Integrate Umbraco and .NET applications with third-party platforms, APIs and business systems.
  • Develop responsive, accessible and user-friendly front-end interfaces.
  • Work with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Maintain, enhance and modernise existing applications and legacy solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex application, performance and integration issues.
  • Contribute to application architecture, technical design and development standards.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, secure and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote development best practice.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Testers and other Developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Support testing, deployment, release and production support activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced developers where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, security, maintainability and scalability across our applications.

Essential Technical Experience

We are looking for strong commercial experience in the following areas:

  • C#
  • .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core
  • Umbraco CMS
  • Full-stack web application development
  • MVC and modern web application architecture
  • HTML5
  • CSS / SCSS
  • JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • REST APIs and web services
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core
  • Git and source control
  • API and third-party system integrations
  • Debugging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation

Candidates should have demonstrable experience developing and supporting commercial Umbraco solutions, rather than solely using Umbraco from a content management perspective.

The successful candidate should have strong experience across areas such as:

  • Templates and views
  • Dependency injection
  • Custom controllers and services
  • Umbraco APIs
  • Packages and extensions
  • Upgrading and migrating Umbraco solutions
  • Performance optimisation

Experience with recent versions of Umbraco, particularly Umbraco 10+, 13 or later, would be highly advantageous.
