Data Analyst at Network Rail DFTO, Remote, 2 Months, £Contract Rate

As a Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide dedicated resource to undertake organisational structure data cleansing across nine Train Operating Companies (TOCs), DFTO, RDG, and a light-touch review of Network Rail.
  • The objective is to identify and resolve organisational structure anomalies, ensuring the baseline workforce data accurately reflects current organisational arrangements.
  • Review organisational structure data and associated organisation chart visualisations across: 9 TOCs, DFTO, Rail Delivery Group (RDG),Light-touch review of Network Rail.
  • Identify and log organisational structure issues.
  • Engage directly with local organisational subject matter experts within each company.
  • Update the underlying organisational structure datasets with approved corrections.
  • Maintain alignment between source data, baseline datasets, and organisational chart outputs.
  • Validate changes following implementation to confirm issues have been resolved.
  • Ensure auditability of all amendments made during the cleansing process.

 

Essential: 

  • Strong ability to analyse large workforce datasets, identify organisational structure anomalies, and implement accurate data corrections to improve data quality.
  • Proficient in Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data reconciliation, and validation techniques for managing and analysing large datasets.
  • Experience using Qlik tools to review organisational structures, validate workforce data, and ensure consistency between datasets and reporting outputs.
  • Understanding of organisational hierarchies, reporting lines, and organisation charts to maintain accurate workforce and structural data.
  • Ability to collaborate with SMEs, maintain audit trails, document changes, and ensure all amendments comply with data governance standards and quality controls.
