As a Instructional Design Developer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Apply the ADDIE instructional design model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) to design, develop and evaluate effective learning solutions.
- Design and develop high-quality digital, blended and classroom-based learning interventions aligned to organisational and business needs.
- Analyse learning requirements and performance gaps to identify the most effective learning approach.
- Translate complex, technical and legal information into engaging, structured and learner-focused content.
- Develop interactive eLearning solutions using Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise.
- Create engaging multimedia learning assets using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Design visual assets, animations, motion graphics and video content that enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Edit and optimise audio and video content for inclusion in learning products.
- Produce instructional design documentation including learning specifications, storyboards, scripts, assessment plans, templates and development standards.
- Contribute to curriculum design by developing learning pathways, sequencing content and defining assessment and evaluation approaches.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather requirements, validate content and ensure learning objectives are achieved.
- Ensure all learning solutions meet accessibility, inclusion and quality standards.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using learner feedback, data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Share instructional design best practice, tools, templates and guidance across the Learning & Development team.
- Manage multiple projects and learning outputs to agreed timelines, quality standards and Statements of Work.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and communicate recommendations with confidenceand impact.
Essential:
- Experience as an Instructional Designer, Learning Experience Designer or Instructional Design Developer.
- Strong application of the ADDIE methodology, including learning needs analysis, learning design and evaluation.
- Proven experience designing and developing digital and blended learning solutions.
- Good understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and learner engagement techniques.
- Experience developing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
- Experience creating multimedia learning assets using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Ability to translate complex technical, operational or legal information into engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Experience designing curricula, learning pathways and assessments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive learning design.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience designing learning solutions within the public sector, legal profession or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of learning evaluation methodologies (e.g. Kirkpatrick) and experience using LMS and learning technologies.
- Relevant qualification in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education or Learning Technologies, with experience developing scenario-based or simulation learning being advantageous.
