Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical assistance and support to our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems. Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software applications.
- Assist users with issues related to Microsoft Windows Server, macOS, Linux, and other operating systems.
- Manage and support network infrastructure including LAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, Firewall configurations, and Active Directory.
- Monitor and maintain computer hardware components and ensure system security through firewalls and antivirus solutions.
- Utilise tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for incident tracking, deployment, and asset management.
- Perform software troubleshooting across various platforms including Microsoft Office applications.
- Support remote users via help desk services ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with team members to analyse system performance and recommend improvements.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records of support activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience with computer networking concepts such as LAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (client and server editions), macOS, Linux.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory management and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with software deployment tools like SCCM; ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy; project management tools like Jira.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in hardware components and software applications.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with experience working in help desk or IT support roles.
