About Scrumconnect Consulting

Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning UK public sector digital consultancy, positively influencing the lives of over forty million UK citizens. We bring deep expertise in agile delivery, digital transformation, and platform engineering across central government. With a team of over one hundred and twenty-five professionals — more than forty percent of whom are women — we are committed to building inclusive, diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

The Role

We're looking for a Frontend Developer to work across our UK government clients, designing, building and improving user-centred, high-volume digital services.

You'll work with designers, user researchers and engineers to deliver accessible, well-engineered frontends. That includes building and growing the design systems and reusable components that help teams deliver consistently and quickly.

Key Responsibilities

● Build and maintain user-centred frontends, design systems and component libraries using Angular, React and TypeScript, integrating with APIs and .NET Core microservices.
● Work with designers in Figma to turn designs into reusable components, and set the frontend standards others follow.
● Make sure services meet the Service Standard, WCAG 2.2 AA and secure-by-design principles, including auditing and fixing accessibility issues.
● Help delivery teams adopt the design system through clear documentation, guidance and hands-on support.
● Build and maintain automated build and test pipelines in Azure DevOps, including automated and DAST security testing.
● Work in blended, multi-supplier agile teams, contributing to service assessments, code reviews and coaching.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

● BPSS clearance (or the ability to obtain it).
● Proven experience building design systems and component libraries.
● Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, HTML and CSS.
● Accessibility expertise, including auditing and remediating to WCAG 2.2 AA.
● Working knowledge of Figma, particularly Dev Mode.
● Experience calling APIs and working with RESTful microservices.
● Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, automated testing (for example Jest, Cypress or Playwright) and DAST tools.
● Experience delivering services to the Service Standard in complex government environments.
● A clear communicator, able to explain technical progress to any audience.

Desirable:

● Experience with the GOV.UK Design System or a departmental design system.
● Familiarity with legacy .NET and migrating away from legacy systems.
● Experience integrating with GOV.UK One Login, Pay or Notify.
● Familiarity with Azure serverless, infrastructure as code (for example Terraform or Bicep) and observability.
