Overview

We are looking for a skilled, creative, and detail-oriented Freelance Web Designer & Developer to help build, redesign, and maintain e-commerce and content websites across WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify. You will turn design concepts into fast, responsive, and high-converting online stores and business websites. (Bonus: If you have experience shooting, editing, or producing promotional/product videos, let us know—this is a strong advantage!)

Key Responsibilities

• Website Design & Build: Design and develop clean, modern, mobile-responsive websites and e-commerce stores on WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify.
• Theme & Plugin Customisation: Customise existing themes, configure page builders (e.g., Elementor, Gutenberg, or Shopify Liquid), and manage third-party app/plugin integrations.
• E-Commerce Setup: Configure product catalogs, payment gateways, shipping rules, tax settings, and checkout flows on WooCommerce and Shopify.
• Performance & SEO Optimisation: Ensure fast loading speeds, clean code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP), mobile optimization, and basic technical SEO.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven Experience: Demonstrated portfolio of live WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify websites you have designed and built.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP (for WordPress/WooCommerce).
• Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid and theme architecture.
• Design Tools: Proficiency in UI/UX design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Photoshop.
• E-Commerce Knowledge: Deep understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO), user experience (UX), and secure online payment setups.
• Video Skills (Nice-to-Have / Advantage): Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects, or Canva) to create short website/product videos.
• Self-Managed: Ability to work independently as a freelancer, hit deadlines, and manage multiple small-to-medium builds.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Fix bugs, resolve plugin/theme conflicts, update security patches, and perform routine site backups.
• Video Creation (Advantage): Plan, record, edit, or animate short-form video assets, product explainers, or brand clips for web landing pages and social integration.
• Client/Project Communication: Manage timelines, present design drafts, and communicate project milestones clearly.

Pay: £200.00-£250.00 per day
