Head of PMO at Department of Health & Social Care, London, 9 Months, £Contract Rate

As a Head of PMO, your main responsibilities will be:

• Setting the strategic direction for programme governance, planning and reporting.
• Leading the PMO team (4 G7s and 1 SEO), developing PMO standards and tools, and overseeing the governance, decision-making and reporting cycle.
• Leading regular risk reviews; developing risk management standards and capability across the programme.
• Ensuring appropriate insight into workstream progress and performance is held centrally at programme level and conveyed effectively to the senior leadership.

Essential:

• Project or portfolio management of a public or private sector organisational merger.
• Managing a complex PMO function at G7 level or above, with demonstrable impact on governance quality and reporting standards.
• Designing and implementing governance frameworks for complex or politically sensitive programme or portfolio environments; generating insight to facilitate effective decision-making.
• Leading and developing a PMO team and contributing to cross-government PMO communities.
• Understanding of how to design and deliver proportionate, effective governance frameworks for complex delivery environments.
• Expert knowledge of risk management strategy and government risk frameworks.
