World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert (PKI) to guide the direction and engineering of a large-scale public key infrastructure estate.

The ideal candidate combines deep PKI product expertise (e.g., Venafi) with strong analytical skills - assessing feature gaps, advising on roadmap decisions, and bridging engineering teams with internal customers and vendors.

This is a contract Role & Inside IR35

Crypto Engineer

Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote, UK

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gap analysis of PKI products and services.
• Advise management on features, versions, and roadmap direction.
• Guide engineering team on technical and framework decisions.
• Support customers with PKI integration and third-line escalations.
• Liaise with vendors on roadmap and support matters.
• Support migration to new PKI solutions.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Expert-level PKI knowledge, including Venafi and supporting protocols (SSL/TLS).
• Experience with load balancers, SQL, and cryptographic algorithms.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Identity and Access Management experience (RBAC, PAM).
• Experience with Service Now, RFC processes, and Advanced Excel.
• Track record of driving process improvement and change.

Desirable:

• NIST Framework knowledge.
• Experience in large financial-sector organizations.
