World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an experienced SSH + Linux Engineer to own secure SSH access across a large enterprise estate and support the backend infrastructure behind it.

The ideal candidate combines strong SSH/Linux engineering skill with automation experience - maintaining discovery tooling, onboarding new privileged access solutions, and driving governance and audit readiness.

This is a contract Role & Inside IR35

Crypto Engineer - SSH

Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote, UK

Key Responsibilities

• Own SSH access, key/certificate handling, and controls.
• Maintain and upgrade SSH discovery tooling.
• Lead onboarding of PrivX for discovery and JIT access.
• Support Linux backend, including PostgreSQL.
• Build Python automation for discovery and reporting.
• Troubleshoot SSH issues and support incident management.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Strong Unix/Linux skills, including bash scripting and service management.
• Deep knowledge of SSH keys, algorithms, and certificates.
• Automation experience (Python, Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and release management.
• Identity and Access Management experience (RBAC, PAM).
• Experience with Service Now, RFC processes, and Advanced Excel.

Desirable:

• Experience in large financial-sector organizations.
• Venafi TPP knowledge for SSH key discovery.

Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
