Solutions Architect at Synechron, London, £Market Rate

Synechron is looking for an end-to-end solution architecture (compute, networking, security, resilience) for applications, largely On-Prem , AWS-hosted, some Azure.

The role is weighted roughly 80% architecture governance & compliance — authoring SDD/ADD/ASA governance documentation, driving designs through the ARB/ITT/PTO/GOVID process, and coordinating across SecArch, Risk & Compliance, and infra/vendor stakeholders and 20% technical expertise.

Role:

• Author governance documentation - SDD, ADD, ASA, HLD - and take designs through our internal ARB/governance process
• Hands-on knowledge of IAC , CI/CD, Terraform, pipelines personally, not just review/approve others' work.
• Kubernetes/EKS migration design, including ownership of on-prem to cloud migrations end-to-end
• IAM/IDM design and security reviews (Okta/SailPoint/Entra-type tooling)
• Work closely across architecture, risk/compliance, and infra teams daily, so collaboration style matters as much as technical depth
• Strong team player in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment

Must-haves:

• Financial services / regulated environment experience
• Can PROVE hands-on experience, owning end-to-end solution design not - designed it and a team built it
• Has personally owned an EKS/Kubernetes migration end-to-end (not just coached/advised one)
• Has AUTHORED governance docs, not just reviewed/signed off on them
• Specific experience and examples of architecture decisions, trade-offs, ownership

Nice-to-have: index/benchmark/market-data platform experience, data migration experience (DMS, Sybase/Mongo to Aurora-type work).

This is a long term rolling contract - x3 days as week in London office - Strong market rates inside IR35
