As a Technical Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of two strategic technology programmes for the Department for Education.

This is a high-profile engagement requiring a delivery professional with strong experience across technology transformation, supplier management, governance, security assurance, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for leading the delivery of:

  • A new Q-SYS Video Conferencing solution.
  • An Internal Helpdesk Contact Centre transformation leveraging Microsoft Teams and Gamma telephony services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Manage programme plans, RAID logs, milestones, dependencies, and reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external suppliers to deliver against agreed outcomes.
  • Drive procurement, commercial engagement, and contract management activities.
  • Lead governance, assurance, architecture, security, and compliance activities.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across business, technical, and leadership teams.
  • Oversee testing, service readiness, operational acceptance, and transition to BAU support.
  • Monitor programme risks, issues, budgets, and delivery performance.
  • Present progress updates to programme boards and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery is completed within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Workstream 1: Q-SYS Video Conferencing Deployment

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading discovery activities and requirements gathering.
  • Managing room surveys and technical assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with GPA standards and organisational requirements.
  • Managing procurement and supplier selection activities.
  • Coordinating equipment deployment, installation, and commissioning.
  • Driving security, data protection, and architecture approvals.
  • Managing integration and Microsoft Teams interoperability testing.
  • Establishing support and maintenance arrangements.
  • Delivering operational handover and service transition.

Workstream 2: Helpdesk Telephony Transformation

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading discovery and current-state assessments.
  • Delivering a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a Teams-based contact centre capability.
  • Developing recommendations and supporting business case activities.
  • Managing Gamma and Microsoft supplier engagement.
  • Coordinating security, architecture, and compliance approvals.
  • Leading implementation activities following business approval.
  • Overseeing user acceptance testing and service readiness.
  • Delivering knowledge transfer, training, and operational handover.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience delivering complex technology programmes as a Technical Delivery Manager, Senior Delivery Manager, or Programme Manager.
  • Strong supplier and third-party management experience.
  • Experience managing technical delivery within large enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrable governance, risk, issue, and dependency management expertise.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary technical and business teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing service transition into operational support environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and priorities.

Desirable Experience

  • Central Government or wider Public Sector delivery experience.
  • Delivery of Unified Communications or Collaboration technologies.
  • Microsoft Teams Voice, Telephony, or Contact Centre experience.
  • Gamma telephony experience.
  • Enterprise AV or Video Conferencing deployment experience, ideally Q-SYS.
  • Security assurance, architecture governance, and compliance processes.
  • Procurement and commercial management within complex organisations.
