ServiceNow Solution Architect at Department for Education, Remote/Sheffield, to 31/03/2026, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

As a ServiceNow Solution Architect, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Assess the existing HRSD implementation, including customisations, integrations, workflows, and data models.
  • Identify areas of technical debt, unsupported design patterns, and upgrade risks.
  • Review current HR processes against ServiceNow leading practices.
  • Evaluate HRSD performance, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Lead the transition from heavily customised solutions to ServiceNow out-of-the-box functionality where appropriate.
  • Challenge existing requirements and historical design decisions.
  • Develop strategies to retire bespoke workflows, scripts, and catalogue items.
  • Ensure future solutions follow a configure-before-customise approach.
  • Define the HRSD architecture roadmap.
  • Design scalable solutions aligned with ServiceNow product strategy and roadmap.
  • Establish HRSD governance standards, architectural principles, and design patterns.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

 

Essential:

  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery.
  • Proven experience assessing and remediating ServiceNow environments.
  • Experience leading platform transformation or optimisation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow HRSD architecture and governance.
  • Experience reducing customisation and driving OOTB adoption.
  • Knowledge of HR operating models and employee experience solutions.

 

Desirable:

  • Previous public sector experience
