Project Manager at Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, London/Remote, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Reporting to the Warm Homes Loans Scheme Head of Project Delivery

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead the overall delivery of the Warm Homes Loans Scheme development, providing delivery oversight across major new features, future phases and material changes to scheme scope.
• Task-manage the PMO and Change Control Lead and Assurance and Approvals Lead, setting clear priorities, coordinating activity and supporting effective delivery across the team.
• Oversee the portfolio of scheme development initiatives from definition through to operational handover, ensuring delivery remains aligned with agreed scheme objectives, priorities and intended outcomes.
• Provide senior oversight of change control, assurance, approvals and governance, setting direction and ensuring activities across these functions are coordinated, proportionate and aligned with scheme development priorities.
• Maintain an integrated view of scheme development delivery, ensuring material risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and resource constraints are understood, escalated and addressed at the appropriate level.
• Provide clear reporting and advice to scheme leadership and governance forums, highlighting overall progress, delivery confidence, key decisions and matters requiring senior intervention.
• Coordinate senior stakeholders across policy, operations, digital, data and wider delivery teams, resolving cross-cutting issues and ensuring the necessary contributions are aligned around scheme development priorities.
• Work closely with the Senior Project Manager - Operations to oversee operational readiness and handover, ensuring new features and future phases transition effectively into live scheme delivery.
• Identify, raise and champion opportunities to continuously improve the delivery and effectiveness of scheme-development activity.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience across project management delivery
• Business change experience and skillset ideally in central government
• Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business
• Experience of managing the PMO process across a busy team
• Strong self starter with a pro active approach to all duties

Qualifications

• A project management qualification is essential for this role
