BI Developer at Crown Prosecution Service, UK Office/Remote, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

The CPS prosecutes criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. The CPS is independent, and they make their decisions independently of the police and government.

 

The purpose of this role is to support the Business Intelligence and Systems Team and senior CPS leadership by developing interactive, user friendly visualisations using Power BI and other reporting tools. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will transform complex HR, Finance and corporate data into actionable insights while helping to modernise and enhance reporting capabilities across the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

 

As a BI Developer, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and visualisations to support business decision making.
  • Transform complex HR, Finance and corporate data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Improve and modernise existing reporting processes and reporting catalogues.
  • Analyse data, troubleshoot reporting issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support the ongoing development of reporting capabilities across Oracle ERP/HCM and associated business systems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, HR and wider business functions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on reporting best practices and data visualisation solutions.

 

Essential:

  • Strong Power BI experience, including dashboard and visualisation development.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven Business Intelligence, Reporting or Data Analytics experience.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports and visualisations for business stakeholders.
  • Experience gathering reporting requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

 

Desirable:

  • Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI).
  • Oracle ERP or Oracle HCM reporting experience.
  • Public sector experience.
