The business is a start up environment, moving at a fast pace. You will work directly with the founder, Kieran and have the opportunity to manage a number of specialised sub-contractors.

 

The company works exclusively with leading Compliance, Testing, and Engineering businesses across the United Kingdom, helping them scale without increasing headcount. Its solutions are custom-built and trained for engineering firms, addressing complex back-office processes alongside high job volume and technical front-end work.

 

Role Description This contract Software Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the United Kingdom, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining back-end services and APIs that power AI agents used by compliance and engineering clients.

 

The role involves writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, implementing object-oriented solutions, and integrating systems with existing client tools and platforms.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar).
  • Practical expertise in Back-End Web Development, including building APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design modular, maintainable systems.
  • Experience working with or interest in AI, automation, or workflow systems in technical or engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and manage time across on-site and remote work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
