Contract Description

Business Analyst - Wealth Target Operating Model (TOM)

Wealth Proposition | 6 month Contract | Outside IR35 | Market rate | Hybrid Working

Investec is progressing a significant growth agenda within its UK Private Client franchise to deliver our ambition to scale a high-touch, advice-led proposition that combines private banking, wealth capabilities, digital access and the wider One Investec ecosystem. As part of this, the business is developing a broader UK Wealth proposition that will require robust, client-centred operational foundations across onboarding, servicing, fulfilment, controls and governance.

This requires a Business Analyst with strong Target Operating Model experience to help define how the proposition will work across teams, governance, service ownership, controls and cross-functional interfaces. The programme has reached a point where decisions on proposition, operating model design and platform and operations planning need to be joined up into a coherent build plan.

This role is ideal for a contractor enjoys turning strategic ambition into practical operating model artefacts. You will help establish the structures, accountabilities and governance required to support a new wealth proposition within an established financial services organisation, working as part of a focused central squad with sponsor-visible deliverables.

What you will be doing

  • Capture and document the Wealth Proposition target operating model (TOM) across teams, roles, service ownership, governance and cross workstream interfaces.
  • Assess current-state capability and define the future-state operating model needed to support the new UK Wealth proposition.
  • Develop TOM artefacts covering roles and responsibilities, service ownership, organisational interfaces, governance forums and decision rights.
  • Create clear RACI models, accountability structures and cross-functional hand-off maps across proposition, operations, platforms and governance.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to identify operating model gaps, unresolved ownership questions and areas requiring executive decision.
  • Document service catalogues, operating principles, governance models and control frameworks in a format suitable for programme approval.
  • Ensure the operating model aligns with launch readiness requirements, client outcomes, regulatory expectations and long-term scalability.
  • Support programme governance by maintaining a clear view of TOM decisions, assumptions, risks, dependencies and outstanding design issues.

What we are looking for

  • Strong Business Analyst experience with a clear focus on Target Operating Model design in UK wealth management or private banking.
  • Proven ability to move from current-state analysis to practical future-state design, including roles, responsibilities and governance structures.
  • Experience creating TOM documentation, service catalogues, RACI matrices, accountability models and operating model artefacts.
  • Good understanding of regulated financial services environments, including controls, governance, operational risk and service ownership.
  • Ability to work across multiple functions, aligning senior stakeholders around clear operating model decisions.
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and shaping structure where processes, accountabilities and governance are still being defined.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, sponsor-ready documentation.
  • Delivery-oriented, credible and confident operating as a senior contractor in a fast-moving build programme.
