Business Analyst - Wealth Operations at Investec, London, 6 Months, £Market Rate (Outside IR35)

Contract Description

Contract Business Analyst – Operations (Wealth Management)

Wealth Proposition | 6 month contract | Outside IR35 | Market rate | Hybrid Working

Investec is progressing a significant growth agenda within its UK Private Client franchise to deliver our ambition to scale a high-touch, advice-led proposition that combines private banking, wealth capabilities, digital access and the wider One Investec ecosystem. As part of this, the business is developing a broader UK Wealth proposition that will require robust, client-centred operational foundations across onboarding, servicing, fulfilment, controls and governance.

This is business-facing contract role for someone who understands how UK wealth management works in practice end-to-end and can turn strategic proposition intent into clear, usable delivery artefacts. You will work as part of a small central build squad, partnering with proposition, operations, platform, service, risk and governance stakeholders to enable the build out of a seamless client experience, deepen banking and wealth relationships, and launch with disciplined, scalable operational processes.

What you will be doing

  • Define end-to-end onboarding, operational processes, target state client journeys, controls, approvals hand-offs, exceptions and service levels.
  • Translate proposition and service design intent into practical operational processes that can be understood and adopted by business teams.
  • Produce detailed process maps, operational journey documentation, readiness artefacts and operating procedures for launch.
  • Work with operations, proposition, platform and governance stakeholders to identify dependencies, gaps, risks and controls.
  • Document operational controls, approvals, ownership points and service levels across the target client journey.
  • Support the development of launch readiness packs, ensuring operational teams have the documentation needed to support go-live.
  • Help identify friction points in the client and colleague journey, recommending practical improvements before launch.
  • Contribute to programme governance by providing clear updates on process design progress, issues, assumptions and decisions required.

What we are looking for

  • Strong Business Analyst experience within UK wealth management or Private Banking
  • Proven background in client journeys / operational process design, client onboarding, service models and business readiness.
  • Ability to create high-quality process maps, operating procedures, control documentation and journey artefacts.
  • Good understanding of wealth operations, including client lifecycle management, account opening, servicing, documentation, exceptions and operational risk.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across operations, proposition, compliance, governance and platform teams.
  • Able to operate in an ambiguous build environment, bringing structure, pace and clear documentation discipline.
  • Strong appreciation of client experience, conduct, operational resilience and control considerations.
  • Delivery-focused, pragmatic and confident working as a senior contractor in a visible, launch-critical programme
