Lead Java Developer - SC Cleared at RedRock Consulting, England, £Contract Rate

Rate: Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC or confident in passing

Location: Leeds, Sheffield or London

Travel: Maximum once per month

Contract: Initial contract

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale technology programme, working on modern applications and services within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong, recent experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Experience developing front-end applications – Thymeleaf and GOV.UK Design System desirable
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, including API versioning
• Experience with OpenAPI / Swagger
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
• Oracle database experience desirable
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit 5 and mocking frameworks
• Experience with automated UI regression testing, ideally Playwright with Java
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and Helm
• Experience working with AWS and Kubernetes
• Understanding of observability, monitoring and structured logging, ideally using OpenSearch and Prometheus
• Strong understanding of software design principles and design patterns

Senior-Level Experience

For senior candidates, we're also looking for experience of technical leadership, mentoring and supporting other developers, alongside the ability to make sound technical decisions and contribute to the wider development approach.
