Web Developer - Airtables at ADHD Action Network, Remote, £30-£50 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Web Developer specialized in Airtables to join our innovative team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in front-end and back-end development to create, optimize, and maintain custom web applications using Airtable as a core platform. Your energetic approach will drive seamless integration with various technologies, ensuring efficient data management and user-friendly interfaces. Duties

  • Design, develop, and customize Airtable bases to meet project-specific requirements, ensuring scalable and efficient data structures.
  • Integrate Airtable with other web services and APIs using REST, GraphQL, and custom webhooks to automate workflows and synchronize data across systems.
  • Build responsive front-end interfaces utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue.js, Bootstrap, SCSS, and TypeScript to deliver engaging user experiences.
  • Develop robust back-end solutions with Django, Node.js, PHP, ASP.NET, C#, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, and related frameworks to support application logic and data processing.
  • Implement UI/UX best practices through wireframing and web design principles to create intuitive interfaces that meet user needs.
  • Utilize version control systems such as Git and GitHub for collaborative development; manage continuous integration/deployment pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
  • Optimize applications for SEO and ensure responsive web design for compatibility across devices.
  • Conduct unit testing and debugging using tools like Visual Studio, Chrome DevTools, or similar platforms to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation of codebase and technical specifications; participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles using Jira or Trello.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, data analysts, and system architects to deliver integrated solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Support DevOps practices by managing deployments on AWS or Azure cloud platforms; utilize Docker containers and Ansible for environment consistency.

Experience

  • Proven experience in front-end development with HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong back-end development skills using Django, Node.js, PHP,.NET (C#), Java or Ruby on Rails; familiarity with MVC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server (Microsoft SQL Server), SQLite or MongoDB; proficiency in writing complex queries.
  • Practical knowledge of integrating web services via RESTful APIs or GraphQL; experience with SOAP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for application deployment and management.
  • Experience working with version control systems like Git (GitHub) or SVN; familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of web design principles including responsive design techniques for mobile compatibility; experience with SEO optimization is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform wireframing using tools like Figma or Adobe XD; understanding of UX/UI best practices for engaging interfaces.
  • Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC), unit testing methodologies, system architecture planning and application development best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities; ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments across multiple projects.
