Role Description This is a Hybrid contract role for a Generative AI Engineer. The Generative AI Engineer will design, build, and optimize AI models and workflows to support internal tools and customer-facing solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include experimenting with large language models and other generative models, preparing and cleaning data, and implementing prompt-engineering and fine-tuning strategies. The role also involves integrating AI capabilities into applications or internal systems via APIs, monitoring performance, and iterating based on measurable outcomes. The engineer will collaborate with product, operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, propose practical AI-driven solutions, and ensure secure, compliant use of data and models.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in software engineering, including proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI (such as Python) and experience with version control and testing.
- Applied machine learning skills, including model training, evaluation, and deployment, with familiarity in deep learning frameworks (for example, PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- 1-3 years of experience building consumer facing generative AI applications
- Experience working with large language models or other generative AI systems, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model evaluation for quality, bias, and safety.
- Data handling skills, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, working with structured and unstructured data, and basic understanding of data privacy and security best practices.
- Ability to design and integrate AI services using APIs or microservices, and to work with cloud platforms or MLOps tools for model deployment and monitoring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on measurable business impact and practical, maintainable solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to document designs and experiments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a similar AI or ML role is an advantage.
- Ability to manage, drive and report on the progress to senior stakeholders
- Ability to identify risks, issues and dependencies with clear path to resolution
