Senior Project Manager at Marine Management Organisation, UK Office/Remote, 8 Months, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

As a Senior Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the end-to-end- delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with departmental strategy and government priorities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, schedules, and critical paths.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, ensuring effective mitigation and escalation where necessary.
  • Ensure delivery of benefits and value for money.
  • Identify, evaluate and document ‘lessons learned’ during the project.
  • Leading on a digital and data project.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including policy teams, operational teams, suppliers, and other government departments.
  • Prepare and present progress updates, reports, and business cases to senior stakeholders and boards.

 

Essential:

  • Professional project management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, or equivalent) with strong knowledge of project governance, assurance, and delivery frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering medium to large-scale, complex projects, including planning, scheduling, and risk/issue management.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches.
  • Experience in business case development, benefits management, and commercial/procurement processes, with the ability to produce high-quality project documentation and reports.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with senior leaders.
