Manufacturing Plant Software Support Engineer
We are looking for a Manufacturing Plant Software Support Engineer to join the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) support team responsible for troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving software-related issues that affect production operations.
Location: Dagenham Manufacturing Plant, 5 days per week
Contract duration: 12 months
IR35 status: Inside IR35
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for software systems used within the manufacturing plant.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software issues impacting manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Escalate complex issues where required and support follow-through to resolution.
- Document issues, fixes, and recurring problems to support continuous improvement.
- Help ensure software-related problems are resolved quickly to minimise disruption to production.
Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting software systems in a manufacturing, production, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical problems clearly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving operational environment where quick response times are important.
- Minimum of 5 years’ software delivery experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, plant software, automation systems, or production support tools would be beneficial.
