Data & BI Business Partner

Location: Nottingham (Onsite – 5 days per week)
Engagement Type: Contract (Inside IR35) / Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP

 

 

We are seeking an experienced Data & BI Business Partner to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, driving the successful implementation of data and analytics solutions.

You will work closely with business, IT, data engineering, and architecture teams to shape requirements, define solutions, manage delivery priorities, and ensure data products enable better decision-making across the organisation.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to define and prioritise data and analytics initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into clear product features, user stories, and delivery plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, supporting business case development and data strategy initiatives.
  • Lead the scoping and definition of data and BI solutions, ensuring alignment to business objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, governance, risks, and delivery communications.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, Analysts, and Project teams to deliver high-quality data products.
  • Promote data governance, security, quality, and compliance best practices.

 

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Data & Analytics, Business Analysis, Product Ownership, or Project Delivery environments.
  • Experience leading data-driven initiatives across multiple business and technology teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Security, and Compliance principles.
  • Hands-on understanding of:
    • SQL
    • Azure Cloud Technologies
    • Databricks
    • Power BI
    • Data Modelling
    • ETL Pipelines
    • Data Warehousing
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulations.
  • Experience working within Agile environments using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.

 

 

Desirable

  • Experience developing business cases, benefits analysis, and funding proposals.
  • Understanding of modern Data & Analytics platforms and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and delivery partners.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSPO, CDMP, or PMP.
