Overview

We are seeking an Azure Solutions Architect to work within a multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver cloud-based solutions within a large-scale organisational environment. This role involves defining solution architecture, guiding cloud adoption, and ensuring designs and documentation meet organisational standards, security requirements, and best practices. The Azure Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish resilient, cost-effective, and scalable solutions across the Azure platform.

 


Who We’re Looking For

An experienced Azure Solutions Architect who can confidently lead client engagements, design end-to-end cloud solutions, and align technical architecture with business outcomes.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing infrastructure and solution architecture; update documentation, architecture diagrams, and decision records as needed.
  • Design high-level and detailed solution architectures aligned with Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Support engineering teams on modernisation tasks.
  • Build solution designs aligned with the organisation's requirements and strategic cloud roadmap.
  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed and approved by central data architecture team.
  • Develop Cloud Architecture and Security plans.

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Design suitable Azure solution architectures for new and existing services in keeping with the organisation's established cloud platform patterns and processes.
  • Support DevOps, Data, and Infrastructure Engineers
  • Support design, development, and deployment of Azure services including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security as needed for workloads and integrations.
  • Verify solution designs meet functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Improve cloud engineering processes and promote infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Establish service measures and provide support for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Ensure documentation is reviewed and approved by central data platform team per acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in communities of practice, ceremonies, and approval forums as required.

 

Desirable

  • Prior experience working within UK Public Sector environments or with Government Digital Standards.
