Service Transition Manager

London or surrounding areas (Hybrid)
£400-£450 per day INSIDE IR35

We're looking for an experienced Service Transition Manager to support the successful transition of technology solutions into Business as Usual (BAU) operations. This is a key role within a large-scale technology transformation programme, ensuring new services are operationally ready, fully supportable, and seamlessly Embedded into day-to-day operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the transition of technology services from project delivery into BAU support.
  • Driving operational readiness across Service Desk teams, support functions, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
  • Defining and implementing support models, including SLAs, service processes, escalation paths, and ownership.
  • Coordinating knowledge transfer, training, and handover of operational documentation.
  • Managing Early Life Support (Hypercare) and ensuring a smooth transition to steady-state operations.
  • Establishing monitoring, reporting, and service management capabilities.
  • Identifying and mitigating operational risks, dependencies, and service impacts.
  • Ensuring alignment with change management, governance, and service management standards.
  • Acting as the key liaison between project teams, operational support functions, suppliers, and business stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in Service Transition and Operational Readiness within complex technology environments.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL Service Management principles.
  • Experience managing large technology systems integrators and third-party suppliers.
  • Proven track record delivering successful BAU service handovers.
  • Knowledge of Change & Release Management, Risk & Issue Management, and Incident & Problem Management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale technology transformation programmes.

Desirable

  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience working across enterprise technology, cloud, infrastructure, or digital transformation initiatives.
