Job Summary

Required Experience:

Azure experience including Functions, App Services, Key Vault, Monitor, and general cloud‑native design.

C#, .NET 10, REST API development, and enterprise backend engineering.

Frontend development with TypeScript, JavaScript or NHS Digital Design System components.

Confident and experienced use of AI development agents and tools in daily workflow.

Duties

• Develop, test, and deploy robust applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and.NET frameworks in Azure cloud environments.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate seamless integration across platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Utilise front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and Bootstrap to create intuitive user interfaces.
• Manage databases including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and utilise ORM tools like Entity Framework for efficient data handling.
• Implement microservices architecture using Azure services and containerisation techniques for scalable solutions.
• Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure code quality and application stability throughout the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Maintain version control using Git, GitHub, TFS or SVN; participate in code reviews and continuous integration processes.
• Develop reports using SSRS or SSIS as required for data analysis and business intelligence purposes.
• Write scripts in PowerShell or Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks within deployment pipelines.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in application security, performance optimisation, and documentation standards.

Skills

• Proven experience with C#,.NET Framework/Core, ASP.NET MVC & Web API development.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services including App Services, Functions, Storage Accounts, and DevOps tools.
• Proficiency with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React; familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap.
• Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server T-SQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and ORM frameworks like Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design principles; experience with SOAP web services is advantageous.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN; CI/CD pipelines implementation is desirable.
• Ability to write clean code following SOLID principles; experience with unit testing frameworks like NUnit or MSTest.
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile/Scrum; strong problem-solving skills and debugging expertise.
• Familiarity with Linux environments for deployment or scripting tasks is a plus.
