Project Manager x2 at Department for Transport, London, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

On behalf of The Department for Transport, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based in any DfT Hub (2 days per week in office).

As a Project Manager in Active Travel England, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work with investments, inspectorate, strategy and other relevant teams to develop and deliver expansions to the active travel schools programme and/or behaviour change innovation fund, including but not limited to:- Develop and submit initiation documents and business cases, develop delivery plans, manage nominated delivery partners, envisaged to be local authorities, contractors, charities, Government Grants Managed Service (GGMS) and/or Connected Places Catapult (CPC)- Manage development of any required guidance, tools, procurements and grants (e.g. fund structure, eligibility, scoring framework) and managed lessons learned and/or
  • Project manage existing related behaviour change grants as part of the active travel revenue grants programme. This will include stakeholder management, monitoring and assurance activities.
  • Provide ad-hoc project management support to enable delivery of wider priorities, such as the Manual for Streets update and guidance on Women and Girls ' Safety.


Essential:

  • Relevant project management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2) and/or equivalent experience in related sectors, eg transport
  • Grant/contract award and management processes, ideally on innovation and infrastructure programmes, including monitoring and assurance
  • Visible leadership and excellent organisational skills - able to deliver stated objectives and work with other ATE functions to maximise vfm, efficiency and learning
  • Good communication skills - able to develop and maintain communications with project managers, specialists, and other stakeholders (e.g. local authorities and non-governmental organisations), building effective and collaborative relationships
