Contract Description

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 5 and a half month contract which is a hybrid role so does require occasional travel to any MOJ office location

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government's ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

This work should surface and address pain points, process inefficiencies (such as duplication of work or rework) and opportunities for improvements, including through digitisation and automation.

As a Senior Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Apply LEAN and or Six Sigma methodology to process elicitation and analysis, scoping and agreeing the business areas to be reviewed.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their perspectives, needs, processes and constraints, facilitating effective and efficient business process change.
  • Understand the processes and activities that affect, and are affected by, PB CoE's work, and how PB CoE's services align with wider MoJ strategy and the rules governing public bodies sponsorship and public appointments.
  • Own analysis and contribute to the definition of precise problems for investigation.
  • Work with service owners and delivery managers to ensure requirements are effectively scoped, split and prioritised.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of business analysis artefacts, including business process repositories and improvement logs.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams, including business and technical colleagues, to develop maps of relevant problem spaces and end to end journeys.
  • Contribute and advise senior leadership on the definition of success metrics and support mechanisms for monitoring the impact of business process changes - including quantifying and monitoring expected savings following improved process efficiency.
