Vulnerability Management Analyst at Alignerr, Remote, £Hourly Rate

Contract Description

Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We're looking for experienced vulnerability management and security operations professionals to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI systems. Your real-world expertise in how security teams discover, prioritize, and remediate risk is exactly what's needed to make AI smarter about cybersecurity.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your hands-on security knowledge to a high-impact project — without leaving your home office.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and real-world exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, exploitability, and business impact using frameworks you already know
  • Review and evaluate patching, mitigation, and remediation decision-making scenarios for accuracy and realism
  • Generate, label, and validate security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Apply your practical judgment on what actually matters in production environments — not just theoretical risk scores

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Solid understanding of CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (CVSS, EPSS, etc.)
  • You know the difference between a critical CVE on paper and one that's actually exploitable in your environment
  • Clear, structured, and analytical communicator — you can explain your reasoning in writing
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with exposure management platforms (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Wiz, etc.)
  • Background in threat intelligence, red teaming, or cloud security
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation or data labeling workflows

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems built in partnership with leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to work that shapes how AI reasons about real-world cybersecurity challenges
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
