Are you a hands-on data center expert who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges? We’re looking for a Senior Data Center Engineer to lead large-scale, enterprise-grade data center initiatives, driving projects from initial assessment through to full operational readiness.

Based in Bristol, this is a high-impact role where you’ll be at the forefront of data center transformation, shaping resilient, scalable environments while partnering directly with clients and senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own end-to-end data center transformation programmes:
    • Lead comprehensive assessments of existing data center environments, covering infrastructure, power, cooling, network, and hardware
    • Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies to inform modernization and migration strategies
    • Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Design and deliver next-generation data center environments:
    • Architect target-state solutions including rack layouts, power distribution, cooling strategies, and structured cabling
    • Drive capacity planning, redundancy, and scalability aligned with enterprise standards
    • Produce detailed, high-quality infrastructure design documentation
  • Drive migration readiness and execution planning:
    • Map dependencies and design migration sequencing, risk mitigation, and validation frameworks
    • Develop readiness assessments, checklists, and acceptance criteria
    • Collaborate across teams to ensure all infrastructure components are fully prepared for transition
  • Engage, influence, and lead:
    • Facilitate client workshops, technical discovery sessions, and design reviews
    • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Act as a trusted advisor, confidently driving decisions in client-facing environments
  • Ensure governance and delivery excellence:
    • Produce robust documentation including assessment reports, design packs, and executive summaries
    • Maintain traceability across risks, assumptions, and design decisions
    • Align delivery with compliance, security, and data center governance standards

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive years of hands-on data center engineering experience
  • Deep expertise across:
    • Rack design, capacity planning, and physical infrastructure
    • Power systems (UPS, PDUs, redundancy, load balancing)
    • Cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, airflow optimization, containment)
    • Structured cabling (fiber, copper, labeling standards)
    • Network fundamentals (switching, routing, VLANs)
    • Compute, storage, and virtualization platforms (e.g., Dell, HPE, Cisco, VMware)
  • Strong analytical capability in dependency mapping and gap analysis
  • Proven experience delivering complex, time-sensitive infrastructure programmes
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Flexibility to work in hands-on data center environments, including physical setup when required

Travel requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to Israel to assess current environments, produce detailed findings, and define migration strategies
