Digital Delivery Manager at Home Office, Remote/London, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

This is a technically focused role working within an AWS / DevOps engineering environment.

As a Digital Delivery Manager embedded within a single product team operating on a strategic platform, you will lead the end xe2 to xe2 end delivery of technical change, cloud xe2 native capabilities, and platform enhancements. Your focus will be on enabling your team to effectively build, run, and improve services on AWS, applying DevOps and automation practices to drive speed, reliability, and operational excellence.

This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact Home Office platform supporting secure, large-scale public services.

You will work closely with engineers, architects, product managers and platform specialists to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high xe2 quality cloud solutions. You will align delivery priorities, remove blockers and drive technical decisions to ensure the platform remains stable, cost xe2 efficient and continuously improving.

As a Digital Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Oversee delivery of platform capabilities and services built on AWS, ensuring secure, scalable and well xe2 architected solutions.
• Coordinate technical planning and roadmap delivery within the product team.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure, deployments, and environments are appropriately managed and maintained.
• Champion DevOps practices including CI/CD, observability, automation, infrastructure xe2 as xe2 code and shift xe2 left testing.
• Support the team to mature the build xe2 run xe2 improve cycle, including release automation, incident response, monitoring and alerting.
• Maintain delivery plans, sprint goals and release schedules for a long xe2 lived product team.
• Manage risks, issues, blockers and dependencies related to the platform.
• Act as the main delivery contact point for team stakeholders including product leads, architects, business owners and other platform consumers.
• Translate technical detail into clear delivery decisions and updates.

Essential:

• An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance).
• Hands xe2 on delivery experience in a cloud environment, ideally AWS, including working with teams building or running cloud xe2 native services.
• Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Experience working within a single multi xe2 disciplinary agile team delivering continuous increments of value.
• Strong communication skills, able to translate between technical and non xe2 technical stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Strong understanding of AWS fundamentals (IAM, VPC, EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation/Terraform).
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer etc)
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, containerisation (Docker), or serverless patterns
• Understanding of SRE concepts (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets) and operational excellence
• Participation in platform engineering or DevOps communities of practice
