Business Change & Organisational Adoption • Communications-Led Role
Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week at client site London, United Kingdom
Job Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
Term: Initial 6 months
Rate: up to £650 per day
About the Role
We are seeking a Generative AI Adoption Lead to drive organisation-wide behaviour change around AI — converting NAE’s investment in Generative AI into safe, effective, and business-led everyday usage. Reporting to the Global Head of School IT Transformation, this is fundamentally a business change and communications role embedded in a technology programme.
This is a communicator first and a technologist second. The right candidate is naturally a writer, presenter, or community builder who happens to know AI well — not an AI specialist who happens to communicate adequately.
You will act as NAE’s trusted internal ambassador for AI, helping colleagues across schools, regions, and central functions understand what is possible, build confidence, and adopt AI in ways that genuinely work for them. This is not a prescriptive or centrally directive role — it creates the conditions, guidance, and support required for the business to define and realise its own use cases.
Key Responsibilities
Adoption & Engagement
• Own and drive awareness and adoption of sanctioned Generative AI services across NAE.
• Make the value of AI visible, concrete, and role-relevant for colleagues at every level.
• Promote safe, responsible, and effective use of AI in line with NAE policy and applicable regulation.
Communications & Storytelling
• Write clear, engaging internal communications, blog posts, portal content, and awareness campaigns.
• Produce practical tips, prompt libraries, and best-practice guidance tailored to specific roles and functions.
• Manage the editorial calendar of the NAE GenAI Promotion Project across its three audience tiers.
Use Cases & Enablement
• Identify, develop, and curate meaningful AI use cases for schools, regional offices, and central functions.
• Work with departments to redesign workflows where AI can meaningfully contribute.
• Gather user feedback and translate it into roadmap input for IT, Digital Workplace, and Digital Identity.
Community Building
• Build and sustain a network of AI champions and early adopters across regions, schools, and central functions.
• Organise awareness sessions, demonstrations, showcases, and clinics — in-person and online.
• Surface and share success stories, giving credit and amplifying good practice across the organisation.
Technology Awareness
• Maintain a current working understanding of NAE’s sanctioned AI portfolio: Microsoft Copilot Chat, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot for M365, Claude, and emerging NAE AI agents.
• Track developments in Generative AI broadly and provide informed input into platform and licensing decisions.
Coordination with IT, Security & Communications
• Ensure adoption activity is consistent with sanctioned-tool routing, Conditional Access policies, and data-handling principles.
• Align AI messaging with the wider internal communications calendar.
• Provide field intelligence to IT leadership on colleague usage patterns, friction points, and investment priorities.
Required Experience & Qualifications
The required profile prioritises communication ability, change management instinct, and demonstrated AI literacy — in that order. Deep technical expertise is not required; credible working knowledge is.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills with a demonstrated track record of producing internal comms, user guidance, training material, or editorial content at scale.
• Change & Adoption: Experience driving behaviour change, digital adoption, or organisational enablement — helping people move from awareness to confident everyday use.
• AI Literacy: Strong, current working interest in Generative AI tools and trends — visible in personal use, professional projects, or public material.
• Hands-on Tool Experience: Familiarity with at least two of: Microsoft Copilot Chat, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot for M365, Claude.
• Facilitation: Confidence running workshops, demos, and awareness sessions in front of varied audiences — from classroom teachers to C-suite.
• Responsible AI: A clear, considered position on responsible AI use — covering data privacy, ethics, and the practical limits of current AI systems — articulated credibly to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Skills
• Experience working in or with a large international or multi-region organisation.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, workflow automation, AI agents, and Microsoft 365 productivity tooling.
• Exposure to AI governance frameworks or safeguarding-sensitive environments.
• Experience in education or professional services.
• Working knowledge of additional languages relevant to NAE’s regions.
Additional Requirements
• Works closely with: Digital Identity, Digital Workplace, Cyber Security, Internal Communications, Regional IT heads.
• Role operates cross-functionally across technology, business, and leadership stakeholders.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• No visa sponsorship available.
