SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

 

As a Lead Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide leadership to the Advancing the Adoption of Advanced Manufacturing (ATAAM) Programme team, setting clear tasks, objectives, and outcomes aligned with DefSp’s strategic direction, while proposing strategic outcomes for their approval.
  • Build and sustain a strong stakeholder community, including senior leaders, to support and drive delivery of ATAAM outcomes.
  • Secure and coordinate alternative resource provision (e.g. UK Defence Innovation) and collaborate with government-funded organisations to enable programme delivery.
  • Oversee delivery of ATAAM work packages (year 1) and shape the development of year 2 activity within the UKDI funding line.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across MOD units, industry networks (including Team Defence Info), and working groups to maintain coherence and accelerate adoption of Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Lead the development of the Advanced Manufacturing Programme for Director Joint Support, including preparation of the BOI submission.

 

Essential:

  • A proven track record in strategic thinking and delivery across the Defence Support enterprise.
  • Knowledge of Advanced and Additive Manufacturing capabilities and experience of implementing manufacturing change within the Ministry of Defence and its suppliers.
  • Knowledge of how Defence works and working knowledge of the UK Armed Forces AM capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel widely (within UK).
  • Excellent communication skills to lead briefings up to 3* level.
