Technical Product Lead, Contract

Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Lead to support the evolution of a growing machine learning platform capability and help shape the transition from tactical delivery to a scalable enterprise-wide MLOps function.
This role will sit at the intersection of product ownership, architecture, and engineering, ensuring that current delivery activity aligns with a long-term enterprise platform strategy.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, define standards and reusable patterns, and establish clear ownership and design direction across multiple teams and workstreams.

About the role:

• Act as the primary point of accountability for the MLOps capability and support the evolution from tactical delivery to an enterprise-scale platform
• Define and drive the MLOps vision, standards, and operating model
• Establish reusable platform patterns including:
• Workspaces
• Pipelines
• Deployment templates
• Governance and control frameworks
• Provide active design authority and technical oversight across delivery teams
• Ensure consistency across multiple programmes and domains, avoiding siloed implementation approaches
• Work closely with engineering teams, platform teams, and stakeholders to align technical decisions
• Translate business and delivery requirements into scalable platform capabilities
• Support governance embedding through design rather than retrospective review
• Enable long-term platform reuse, operational supportability, and reduction of technical debt
• Influence and guide platform engineering decisions around deployment, controls, and integration approaches

Experience Required

• Strong experience leading enterprise MLOps or ML platform initiatives
• Experience defining and implementing MLOps operating models and platform standards
• Strong understanding of machine learning lifecycle management, deployment, and governance practices
• Experience working with modern cloud-based data and machine learning platforms
• Experience working across platform engineering, architecture, and product functions
• Strong experience establishing reusable patterns and enterprise-scale frameworks
• Experience operating within complex enterprise environments with multiple delivery teams
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
• Experience providing architecture governance and design authority
