Senior Platform Engineer at Opticore IT, London, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Engineer who is able to build VDI in AWS using Appstream and Workspaces to come and join the team on an initial 6-month contract basis with a possibility of extension. You'll join our excelling team inside IR35, based in the London area.

This opportunity will have you working with a large enterprise organisation helping to migrate the current Citrix environment to the new VDI (AWS) environment using Automation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build the VDI platform in AWS and migrate citrix apps to it using AppStream.
• Automated build and configuration of an AppStream 2.0 fleet
• Expansion of the automated Workspaces platform build
• AppSense integration
• Peripheral tooling integration
• Contribution to design documentation
• Full operational documentation
• Development and delivery of service transition materials for migrated applications
• Migration of at least 3 applications from Citrix Cloud to the new solution
• Service transition of the migrated applications
• No on call or overtime expected at this stage but any overtime that maybe required will be weekday with TOIL
• Working from home primarily with very occasional team meetings in White City

• Automation using Powershell, Cloud Formation- Automation background
• AWS Appstream and Workspaces
• Windows 11 endpoint management in a virtual desktop or VDI context
• Windows Server and Windows 11, AD into Appstream
• Written and verbal communication/documentation skills
