About us

We are GVG (www.gvggroup.com), a growing UK-based asset management and maintenance consultancy, working with clients across infrastructure, utilities and industrial sectors. We are developing a suite of in-house digital tools to support asset data management, maintenance planning and operational performance.

The role

We are looking for a freelance software developer to support the design and development of internal applications. These tools will be used by our consultants and clients to improve asset data quality, streamline workflows and support decision-making.

You will work closely with our team to translate operational requirements into practical, user-friendly applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop web-based applications and tools
• Translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions
• Build intuitive user interfaces with a strong focus on usability
• Develop and manage databases and data models
• Integrate applications with third-party systems where required
• Support testing, deployment and ongoing improvement
• Provide technical input into architecture and technology choices

Essential skills and experience

• Proven experience developing web applications (front-end and back-end)
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, or similar)
• Experience with backend technologies (e.g. Node.js, Python, .NET or similar)
• Experience building user-friendly, intuitive interfaces
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with Microsoft 365 / Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI) would be very helpful
• Knowledge of data visualisation and dashboarding
• Experience working in small, fast-paced teams or consultancies
