SAP BO/Power BI Developer at Wipro, Fareham, £Contract Rate

Wipro are looking for a SAP BO/Power BI developers

 to work in Fareham on a contract basis 

The role involves end‑to‑end BI migration, including dashboard translation, semantic model redesign, data extraction from SAP landscapes, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure reporting continuity and improvement.

Key Responsibilities 

• Analyse and assess existing SAP BO artefacts (Crystal Reports, Universes).
• Translate SAP BO reports and dashboards into Power BI reports while preserving business logic and KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for report consolidation, optimisation, and standardisation during migration.
• Decommission legacy BO reports post‑migration in a controlled manner.
• Design and develop Power BI data models (star schema, snowflake).
• Recreate or redesign SAP Universes into Power BI–compatible semantic models.
• Ensure performant and scalable BI models aligned with enterprise standards.
• Extract and consume data from SAP sources 
• Build Power BI datasets using: 
  • Power Query
  • DirectQuery / Import modes
• Work with data engineers to integrate SQL / Data Lake sources where applicable.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualisations using Power BI Desktop and Fabric
• Implement row‑level security (RLS) and role‑based access.
• Optimise report performance and refresh schedules.
• Publish reports and datasets to Power BI Service.

Required Experience & Skills 

• Demonstrable experience delivering complex process focused projects or integration programmes.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management experience
• Experience building Power BI datasets 
• Experience translating SAP BO reports and dashboards into Power BI reports while preserving business logic and KPIs.
