Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team for a high-impact, 6-month project, with good chance of extensions and potential route to permanent if interested.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will focus 100% on technical delivery, playing a pivotal role in designing, building, and delivering core components of our platform.

This is a fast-moving startup environment where you will write production-grade code and influence technical decisions to solve complex e-commerce logistics challenges.

Our Core Values

  • We believe in direct and open communication. We encourage sharing opinions and debating ideas freely, without making it personal. As a fully remote company, we know clear and consistent communication is vital, and we make an extra effort to ensure we're understood not just by our immediate team, but by everyone.
  • We are highly collaborative. Building a startup requires a true team effort, where we support each other and work towards a shared goal to succeed. We're all here to solve the company's challenges together, not just our own individual tasks.
  • The customer comes first. Our decisions are guided by customer needs, not by the allure of the newest technology. Ultimately, our purpose is to build a product that provides real value to our customers.
  • We are committed to self-improvement. In this fast-moving industry, we can't afford to stand still or be rigid in our roles. We continuously learn and stay updated to make informed decisions. We're also comfortable admitting what we don't know and are always open to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • We release small, fast, and often. We believe in getting our work out often to gather feedback quickly and adapt our plans accordingly. Anything that slows down this cycle of rapid iteration is something we actively avoid.
  • We focus on working smart. Our goal is to build simple, effective solutions that provide immediate value. We view code as disposable - the less we write, the less we have to maintain in the long run. We believe the most elegant solution is often the one you don't need to build at all.
  • We try not to take ourselves too seriously. The startup journey is challenging enough as it is, so we make sure to have a sense of humour, have fun, and enjoy the process along the way as much as we can.

Responsibilities
  • Design & Develop: Build and maintain scalable, secure components and APIs within our serverless environment using Go and React.

  •

End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of key domain-specific services, from architectural design through to deployment and monitoring.

  •

Engineering Excellence: Improve development workflows, testing, deployment, and observability to ensure rapid, reliable iteration.

  •

Clean Code: Lead by example by writing clean, simple, scalable and well-tested production code.

  •

Problem Solving: Investigate and fix root causes of issues within a serverless architecture.

About You
  • Experience: 2+ years in a senior software engineering role within a startup environment.

  •

Backend Expertise: Strong backend fundamentals with deep commercial experience inGo.

  •

Cloud Infrastructure: Extensive experience with AWS, event-driven architecture, and serverless tools like AWS Lambda.

  •

API Design: Highly experienced in designing RESTful APIs and working with serverless architectures.

  •

Modern Tooling: Eager to use AI-powered development tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to maximise productivity.

  •

Pragmatic Builder: Ability to simplify complex systems and build scalable, effective solutions quickly.

  •
