Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Microsoft 365 technical lead to own the security, governance and AI enablement of our Microsoft tenant within a large enterprise environment.
This role will focus on securely enabling Microsoft Copilot, automation and AI-driven workflows , while ensuring the organisation maintains strong tenant governance, identity security and data protection .

The successful candidate will have deep expertise across Microsoft 365 security, Microsoft Purview, Entra ID and tenant governance , and will play a key role in defining how AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio are deployed safely and responsibly .
This is a technical leadership role , but the expectation is that the successful candidate will remain hands-on with configuration, implementation and governance across the Microsoft ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Tenant Security & Governance

• Own the security architecture of the Microsoft 365 tenant
• Design and implement identity governance using Microsoft Entra ID
• Implement and manage Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust controls
• Lead tenant governance policies for Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
• Establish lifecycle management for M365 Groups, Teams and external sharing

Data Governance & Compliance

• Design and implement Microsoft Purview governance frameworks
• Implement sensitivity labels, DLP policies and information protection
• Define data classification and retention strategies
• Monitor and mitigate data oversharing risks across SharePoint and Teams
• Ensure compliance across AI-generated content and automated workflows

AI Enablement & Copilot Rollout

• Lead the secure rollout of Microsoft Copilot across the organisation
• Implement governance controls for Copilot, Copilot Studio and AI agents
• Ensure AI services are aligned with data security and compliance policies
• Identify business use cases for AI-driven automation
• Define guardrails for responsible AI usage across the organisation

Automation & Intelligent Workflows

• Design automation solutions using:
• Power Automate
• Power Apps
• Microsoft Graph
• Copilot Studio
• Build secure integrations across Microsoft 365 and enterprise systems
• Establish governance frameworks for Power Platform environments

Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance

Implement controls across:

• Microsoft Defender
• Microsoft Purview
• Identity governance
• Insider risk management

Monitor tenant activity and enforce security best practices

Stakeholder Leadership

• Act as the technical authority for M365 security and AI governance
• Translate Microsoft capabilities into secure business solutions
• Work with security, infrastructure and architecture teams
• Guide engineering teams on tenant security and AI best practices

Required Experience

• Extensive experience managing enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview governance and compliance
• Hands-on experience deploying Microsoft Copilot
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID identity governance
• Experience building automation solutions using Power Platform
• Strong understanding of Microsoft tenant security architecture
