Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Spring to support a major public sector programme. The successful candidate will provide hands-on development leadership, collaborating closely with delivery teams, architects, and other stakeholders to shape and deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on development and technical leadership across the engineering team
• Work collaboratively with delivery, architecture, and stakeholder groups to design and deliver quality solutions
• Drive best practices in engineering, ensuring high standards of code quality and maintainability
• Support Agile delivery methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Skills:

• Strong public sector experience as a Senior Java Engineer
• Excellent hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot
• Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
• Proven ability to lead and guide engineering teams and technical solutions
• Agile delivery experience
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence

Nice To Have:

• Previous experience with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
