Security Platform Engineer at RiverSafe, United Kingdom, £Contract Rate

The Role

Lead the implementation of robust security practices, working cross-functionally to safeguard platforms and reduce cyber risk across a diverse technology landscape:

• Provide strategic guidance for secure adoption of SaaS & PaaS platforms across Microsoft, Google, Atlassian and MongoDB Atlas
• Deliver technical consulting to identify misconfigurations and reduce platform risk
• Support secure design and integration across business programmes, including access and configuration reviews
• Contribute to platform security standards, policies, and best practices
• Support integration of security into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)

Skills

• Strong understanding of Identity & Access Security (least privilege, Zero Trust, SSO, JWT, RBAC/ABAC/PBAC)
• Solid grasp of security architecture, particularly for APIs and databases
• Knowledge of platform security, monitoring, response, and governance
• Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Awareness of common threats (DDoS, brute force, exfiltration, spoofing etc.)
• Hands-on experience in platform or infrastructure security
