Job Title: Conversion-Focused Web Designer & Developer (Freelance Contract)
Company: Armada Growth Ltd.
Location: Remote (UK-based preferred, but not required)
Contract Type: Freelance / Ongoing Contract
Compensation: Competitive (project-based or monthly retainer, based on experience)
About Armada Growth Ltd.
Armada Growth Ltd. is a performance-driven company focused on building high-converting digital assets that drive measurable business growth. We don’t care about “pretty websites” — we care about results: conversions, user engagement, and scalable systems that generate revenue.
We’re looking for a skilled operator who understands both design and development , and more importantly, how those translate into business performance .
Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance websites and landing pages that are built to convert. This is not a basic design role — you will be expected to think strategically about user behaviour, sales funnels, and conversion optimisation.
You should be someone who can take an idea from concept → design → fully functional website, without constant oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Web Design (UX/UI + Conversion Focus)
- Design clean, modern, high-converting website layouts
- Create user journeys that guide visitors toward specific actions (lead capture, purchases, etc.)
- Apply strong UX/UI principles (hierarchy, spacing, readability, flow)
- Optimise for mobile-first performance
- Design landing pages specifically for marketing campaigns
2. Web Development
- Build responsive, fast-loading websites from scratch or using frameworks/CMS
- Implement designs into fully functional pages (pixel-perfect execution)
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and performance optimisation
- Integrate third-party tools (analytics, CRMs, email systems, tracking pixels)
- Maintain clean, scalable, and efficient code
3. Conversion Optimisation
- Structure pages with clear CTAs and logical flow
- Understand and implement basic CRO principles (headlines, sections, trust signals, etc.)
- Improve site performance based on user behaviour and feedback
- Work with marketing data where needed to refine designs
4. Technical Performance
- Optimise page speed (Core Web Vitals awareness is a plus)
- Ensure SEO-friendly structure (basic on-page SEO knowledge)
- Maintain site security and stability
- Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues quickly
Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills
- Strong experience in both web design and development
- Proficiency in:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- One or more CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, or similar)
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles
- Ability to build responsive, mobile-optimized websites
- Experience creating landing pages that convert
Bonus Skills (Highly Valuable)
- Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO)
- Familiarity with tools like Webflow, Figma, or Adobe XD
- Understanding of marketing funnels and user psychology
- Basic SEO knowledge
- Experience integrating APIs or advanced functionality
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who thinks like a business owner , not just a designer
- Able to work independently and deliver without micromanagement
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for output
- Fast, efficient, and solution-oriented
- Communicates clearly and meets deadlines consistently
What We Don’t Want
- Template-only designers with no understanding of performance
- Developers who ignore design and UX
- People who require constant direction for basic tasks
- Slow communicators or inconsistent freelancers
What You’ll Be Working On
- Company websites
- Landing pages for marketing campaigns
- Funnel pages and lead generation systems
- Ongoing site improvements and optimizations
Working Structure
- Flexible, remote work
- Project-based initially, with potential for long-term collaboration
- Clear deliverables and expectations per project
- Direct communication with decision-makers (no bureaucracy)
How to Apply
Please include:
- Portfolio of previous work (especially high-converting websites or landing pages)
- Brief explanation of your process when building a website
- Examples of projects where your work improved performance (if available)
- Your preferred tools/stack
Final Note
We’re not looking for average. We’re looking for someone who understands how to build digital assets that actually drive results . If that’s you, we want to work with you.
