AI-Enabled Fullstack Developer at Future Works, Remote, £Freelance Rate

Description

Future Works is searching for a results-driven, AI-Enabled Fullstack Engineer with strong end-to-end experience building custom software solutions. In this role, you will own the development and delivery of scalable, production-grade applications, from architecture through deployment, ensuring solutions are aligned with client requirements and business objectives.

Working within an agentic engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business goals into robust technical implementations. By leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools, you will increase the speed and quality of delivery while maintaining strong engineering standards and architectural discipline.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build production-grade applications with React and Next.js

• Translate product and client requirements into structured implementation plans

• Use AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, v0, LLMs) to accelerate development

• Stay current with evolving AI-assisted coding practices and understand their strengths and limitations

• Review and refine AI-generated code to ensure correctness, performance, and maintainability

• Define and uphold architectural boundaries

• Integrate and implement third-party platforms and APIs (e.g., Twilio, Stripe, Temporal, and similar systems)

• Ship features quickly while maintaining production stability

• Collaborate closely with design, product, and clients

Required Experience

• 5+ years building modern web applications

• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals

• Deep experience with React and Next.js

• Experience with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity, Strapi, Payload)

• Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git workflows, DNS, and cloud deployments

• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0, LLMs), with a strong understanding of when to rely on them and when not to

• Experience integrating external APIs and third-party services such as payments, messaging, workflow engines, or similar infrastructure
