WordPress Developer – Daily Collaboration Role (UK Time)

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled WordPress Developer with strong SEO expertise to work directly alongside the founder of a growing construction training company.

This is not a typical freelance task-based role.

You will be working live, side-by-side (1–2 hours every evening, UK time) to build and optimise a high-performance website page by page , with a clear focus on ranking, conversions, and scale .

How We Work

Key Responsibilities

• Build and optimise WordPress pages live during sessions
• Implement SEO best practices (on-page, structure, internal linking)
• Develop high-converting service pages (NVQs, courses, landing pages)
• Improve site speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals
• Set up clean, scalable page structures (templates, reusable blocks)
• Advise on best WordPress stack (themes, plugins, architecture)
• Ensure mobile-first, responsive design
• Support ongoing improvements and scaling of the website

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (essential)
• Proven track record of building SEO-optimised websites that rank
• Deep understanding of:
• On-page SEO (H1/H2 structure, content layout, schema)
• Site architecture & internal linking
• Page speed optimisation
• Experience with tools like:
• Elementor / Gutenberg / GenerateBlocks (or similar)
• RankMath / Yoast
• Solid knowledge of:
• HTML, CSS, basic PHP
• Ability to work live and communicate clearly while building

Nice to Have (Not Essential)

• Experience with programmatic SEO or large-scale page builds
• Familiarity with construction/training industry (bonus)
• UX/UI understanding for conversion optimisation
