QA Engineer at Diatom Technologies, Manchester/Remote, £300 per day

Role Title: QA Engineer – Conversational AI / Voice Bot Testing

Location: UK (Hybrid – Manchester travel as required)

Experience: 5–6 years

Rate: Up to £300/day (Inside IR35)

We are looking for a highly skilled QA Engineer with experience in automation and AI-driven testing, specifically within conversational AI / voice bot ecosystems. This role goes beyond traditional QA and requires the ability to validate contextual, probabilistic, and human-like AI responses.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies for conversational AI systems (chatbots/voice bots)
• Develop and execute Python-based automated test scripts
• Validate AI-generated responses for accuracy, context, and human-like behaviour
• Create scenario-based and probabilistic test cases
• Collaborate with developers and product teams in Agile environments (JIRA-based tracking)
• Identify edge cases in natural language understanding (NLU) and prompt responses
• Ensure quality across end-to-end conversational journeys

Key Requirements

• 5–6 years of experience in QA with strong automation background
• Hands-on experience with Python for testing/automation
• Experience with JIRA and Agile delivery models
• Exposure to Conversational AI / Chatbots / Voice Bots (e.g., Sprinklr, AMY, Dialogflow, etc.)
• Understanding of prompt engineering and AI behaviour validation
• Strong analytical mindset to test non-deterministic outputs

Good to Have

• Experience with AI/ML model testing
• Exposure to NLP/NLU systems
• Knowledge of test frameworks for AI systems
