Contract AI Engineer – AI Applications (Databricks)

Inside IR35 | 6 Months | Primarily Remote (Occasional London Travel)

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team building AI-powered, client-facing applications. This role will focus on developing and optimising data platforms and pipelines that enable advanced analytics and AI capabilities.

You’ll work within an Agile/Scrum delivery team, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions in a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines to support AI and analytics workloads
• Develop and deploy AI pipelines in cloud environments
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to support AI-driven applications
• Ensure high standards of data quality, performance, and reliability
• Contribute to delivery within a Scrum-based Agile team

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience working with AI technologies, including LLMs / GenAI / OpenAI APIs
• Strong experience with Databricks
• Advanced Python programming skills
• Experience developing and deploying AI or data pipelines in cloud environments
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum delivery frameworks
