Role Description

This is a contract role for a Security Cleared Technical Architect. The Technical Architect will design, develop, and implement technical solutions aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities include leading architecture and technology decisions, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing technical guidance during the project lifecycle. The candidate will also ensure compliance with security standards and contribute to improving systems and processes.

💼 Role Overview

• Role: Technical Architect (SFIA 5)
• Experience: 10–15 years
• Day Rate: 💷 £725 (Inside IR35 dependent on engagement)
• Location: Hybrid – London & Croydon
• Clearance: Active UK Security Clearance (essential)
• Engagement: Long-term contract

🔍 The Opportunity

You’ll operate at a senior level, leading architecture across complex, secure environments within central government.

You will:

• Lead the design, governance, and assurance of complex systems and infrastructure
• Drive adoption of cloud, AI, and emerging technologies
• Ensure solutions are secure, user-centric, and scalable
• Resolve high-risk technical challenges and shape strategic direction
• Mentor teams and build a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

🧠 Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver technical strategy and architecture across programmes
• Lead solution design, integration, and governance processes
• Produce and contribute to HLSDs, LLSDs, product designs, and service taxonomy
• Create and maintain service transition plans
• Provide weekly and monthly reporting aligned to delivery milestones
• Work closely with stakeholders across Home Office

⚙️ Tech & Experience

We’re looking for strong experience across:

• AWS cloud architecture & microservices
• Java / Spring Boot, REST APIs, event-driven systems
• Data platforms (Redshift, S3, Glue, Kinesis, etc.)
• Enterprise integration & legacy-to-cloud migration
• Secure, scalable architectures within government or regulated environments

📦 Deliverables (SOW-Aligned)

• Monthly status & time reporting
• Weekly progress updates against transition milestones
• Contribution to service design & transition artefacts
• Ongoing ownership of transition planning and delivery
