Technology Project Manager – Oracle Retail Releases (Contract)

Day Rate: Competitive Inside IR35

Location: Reading (Hybrid - 2 days per week)

Duration: Initial 6 Months (with extension possible)

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of key workstreams within a large‑scale Oracle Retail Releases Programme. This role will oversee end‑to‑end delivery across a complex technology portfolio, working closely with Product Teams, Solution Architects, and our delivery partners to ensure successful, high‑quality outcomes.

The Role

Oracle Retail sits at the heart of our IT systems landscape. You will manage the full lifecycle of a number of concurrent IT change projects within the Oracle Retail Releases portfolio, ensuring delivery against defined scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards.. You will be responsible for aligning various stakeholders and teams across the business, product teams, engineering and our delivery partners. All the time keeping strong control and maintaining delivery momentum across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of important and urgent change projects related to our Oracle Retail solution.
• Manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies and quality across assigned workstreams.
• Work closely with Product teams, Solution Architects, Engineering and our delivery partners to coordinate delivery.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans aligned to strategic objectives.
• Provide clear, concise reporting to senior stakeholders, escalating risks and decisions appropriately.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise delivery governance, architecture, engineering and compliance standards.
• Build strong relationships across business and technology teams, driving collaboration and alignment.
• Oversee vendor performance against plan, management of scope, tracking of costs and deliverable quality.
• Lead, support and motivate cross‑functional teams to achieve successful outcomes.

Essential Experience

• 5+ years’ experience as an IT Project Manager delivering complex technology projects.
• Proven track record delivering against scope, budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Background in Oracle Retail modules (RMS, ReSA, RPM, ReIM) or other large‑scale Oracle based solutions / programmes.
• Experience working within the Retail sector either directly for major retail organisations or as a system integrator within the Retail domain. We could potentially look at strong sector experience in other similar industries (logistics, distribution, transport and travel).
• Strong experience managing multi‑supplier environments, including offshore and/or nearshore delivery partners.
• Excellent planning, problem‑solving and self-organisational skills.
• Strong stakeholder management across technology and business contacts.
• Ability to communicate clearly at all levels in particular to articulate complex technical detail to non‑technical audiences.

Desirable/Bonus Skills

• Experience in Supply Chain, Merchandising, Planning, Store Operations or Digital Retail domains.
• Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, Scrum Master, SAFe) or their equivalents.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and any project management reporting tools.
