Job Title: Cloud Engineer (contract)

Location: London Hybrid. Travel to the London office on 3 days a week

Duration: 11 months

Contract Start Date: ASAP *note client onboarding takes 6 weeks from offer

Day Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35)

The Role

We are looking for experienced Cloud Engineers to work in the Technology and Transformation Team at Deloitte. You will work with one of our global financial services clients. This position requires a solid engineering experience as per the tech listed below, preferably with Financial Services experience.


Your professional experience

  • + 7 years Cloud Engineering experience
  • Expert in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
  • Strong expertise in developing in Go/Python .
  • Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks like Selenium, Postman and Cucumber .
  • Able to produce clear Unified Modelling Language (UML) diagrams and service design artifacts
  • Background in software engineering is very desirable.
  • Ability to balance speed of delivery with maintainability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving production and time sensitive issues (build it and own it).


Deliverables:
Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, and robust software solutions in Go and Python.
  • Design, implement, and execute comprehensive testing strategies utilising tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Postman, and Cucumber, and produce clear Unified Modelling Language (UML) diagrams and service design artefacts.
  • Apply established software engineering principles, balancing speed of delivery with maintainability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and time-sensitive issues, demonstrating expertise and full ownership of the resolution process.
