DCS Empowerment CIC is seeking an experienced and passionate Employability & Digital Skills Trainer to deliver sessions on our Midlife Digital Empowerment & Employability Programme supporting adults aged 50+ across South London.

This role is ideal for trainers who enjoy building confidence, supporting digital inclusion and helping adults return to work, volunteering or further learning .

You will deliver engaging workshops that combine employability skills with practical digital tools needed for today's job market .

About the Programme

Our 12-week Midlife Digital Empowerment & Employability Programme supports adults aged 50+ to develop confidence using digital tools while building the skills needed to progress into work or learning.

Digital skills are embedded throughout the employability journey, helping learners confidently navigate the modern digital job market .

The Role

We are looking for an engaging and supportive trainer who understands the barriers midlife jobseekers face and can create a positive, motivating learning environment.

Delivery will include:

  • Face-to-face sessions across South London boroughs
  • Online sessions via Zoom or similar platforms

Key Training TopicsEmployability Skills

  • Identifying transferable skills
  • CV writing and tailoring
  • Personal statements
  • Interview preparation and mock interviews
  • Job search strategies
  • Understanding recruitment processes
  • Confidence building and mindset

Embedded Digital Skills

  • Using job search platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, Universal Jobmatch)
  • Creating and uploading digital CVs
  • Email etiquette and professional communication
  • Completing online application forms
  • Basic Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills
  • Navigating online portals
  • Ethical use of AI tools for CV writing and applications
  • Online safety and digital awareness

You will also support learners to build confidence with technology, track learner progress and contribute to programme outcomes and reporting.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

✔ Proven experience delivering employability training to adults
✔ Experience supporting learners with low digital confidence
✔ A recognised Assessing Qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA or equivalent)
✔ Strong knowledge of the UK labour market and recruitment processes
✔ Experience delivering both face-to-face and online training
✔ Ability to travel across South London boroughs
✔ Strong facilitation and motivational skills
✔ Safeguarding awareness

Desirable

  • Teaching / training qualification (AET, PTLLS or Level 3+)
  • Experience working with 50+ learners
  • Knowledge of digital inclusion frameworks
  • Experience using AI tools to support employability
